Conscious Voter Contact is changing the political consulting business. As campaign veterans, we know how hard it is to raise political money. We also know how easy it is to spend it – and that’s the problem. We started this business in 2018 after we got sick and tired of watching hard-earned campaign funds get spent in obscure and ambiguous ways. Even if they ask, many clients have no idea about how their money is being spent — what mail pieces actually cost, where the digital ads are running, and who is making what profit. And our work looks different — it’s not standard political mail and digital ads that get recycled from race to race by simply inserting a different candidate’s name and photo. Creativity is important to us and we purposely don’t use designers who’ve done political work before. We understand that voters have a million things going on in their lives, and if we don’t catch their attention in milliseconds, we’ve lost them.
We also understand that digital advertising is different than other mediums of communication. When sending a piece of direct mail, you send a list of addresses to the printer and expect everyone to get the piece. Digital isn’t that simple or straightforward. Your list is matched to determine who is reachable on various mediums – and in that matching process a large chunk is deemed unreachable. Worse yet, because of privacy restrictions, you often have no idea who was actually served the ads. Our digital strategies will help to ensure that your digital ads are seen by as many of the people you are targeting as possible. And we ask all of the right questions and constantly optimize to get the most out of our ad dollars.

Founder and President
Tucker Green has worked in politics since Howard Dean’s presidential campaign in 2003. In 2011, he formed his own political consulting firm based in New York City. His fundraising clients all run campaigns with multi-million dollar war chests. The Capitol Newspaper named Tucker one of New York’s 40 under 40 rising stars in politics, and most recently, City & State Magazine listed him as New York’s top political fundraiser. In 2018, he started a new political advertising business — Conscious Voter Contact — which makes print and digital ads. He attended the Taft School in Watertown, CT and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona in 2003. He enjoys spending time with his two sons, running and fly fishing. He grew up in Woodbury, CT and lives in New Canaan, CT.
Michael Kenney has been responsible for the day-to-day fundraising for New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli since 2012, and built the fundraising operations for DA Madeline Singas in 2015, State Senator Todd Kaminsky in 2016, and County Executive Laura Curran in 2017. He initiated the firm’s practice of designing mail pieces in-house, creating dozens of event invitations, fundraising letters, and their complementary online material. Prior to entering politics, Michael spent 12 years in television and film production, working on TV commercials, films and music videos. He graduated from Macalester College in 1998 and grew up in Washington, D.C. He is married and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
Max Kramer managed Laura Curran’s successful campaign for Nassau County Executive in 2017, making her the first female county executive elected in Long Island’s history and only the third Democrat to ever hold the post. He previously managed Congresswoman Kathleen Rice’s first re-election campaign in 2016 and served as her Deputy District Director in her Long Island office. Max served as deputy director for Finance and Political Affairs on Rice’s first campaign for Congress and worked on her 2013 re-election to the Nassau County District Attorney’s office. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in 2013. Max grew up in Oceanside, New York, and currently resides in Forest Hills, Queens.
Joseph Rulli joined Tucker Green Consulting in January of 2018 after raising a Suffolk County record amount for a District Attorney race in Tim Sini’s successful 2017 campaign. He has been fundraising on Long Island since 2014, raising million-dollar funds and providing strategic guidance to federal, state and local democratic candidates, including former Congressman Tim Bishop, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and Suffolk County District Attorney Tim Sini. Joseph grew up on Long Island where he attended the Stony Brook School, Suffolk County Community College and Stony Brook University. He enjoys spending free time with family and friends and currently lives in East Setauket with his wife and three young children.
Kelsey Mahan joined Tucker Green Consulting in April of 2015. She was an integral member of the finance team for Madeline Singas’ first campaign for Nassau County District Attorney in 2015. She was the Deputy Finance Director for Congresswoman Kathleen Rice’s first re-election campaign in 2016. Prior to working at the firm, Kelsey worked for the Iowa Democratic Party and on a county-wide campaign in New Jersey. She received her bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University in 2014. Kelsey grew up in Upstate New York and currently resides in Astoria.
Michael Ousley worked as the Missouri Democratic Party’s Finance Director from 2017-2018 and managed State Senator Lauren Arthur’s special election campaign, where she flipped a Trump district in a 20 point victory. He then made the move to New York, where he managed Laura Gillen’s re-election campaign for Hempstead Town Supervisor. Michael grew up in St. Joseph, Missouri, graduated from the University of Missouri, and now lives in Forest Hills, Queens.
Benjamin Allen joined Tucker Green and Company in June of 2020 after working with numerous Democratic campaigns across Connecticut and New York. As Social Media Director for the Connecticut Democrats during the 2018 election cycle, he helped Democrats make historic gains in the midterm election and crafted the TV and digital strategy that was influential in State Rep. Phil Young’s upset victory. His films have been selected for numerous festivals and his documentary film debut won Best Picture at the Southern Connecticut Film Festival. Ben received his bachelor’s degree in Film, Television, and Digital Production from Southern Connecticut University. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and two daughters.
Melanie joined Tucker Green in April of 2019. Prior to working with the firm, she worked on several local campaigns including Monica Martinez for State Senate and the Suffolk County Coordinated Campaign. She received her degree from Baruch College and interned with Generation Citizen. Melanie grew up on Long Island and currently resides in Nesconset.
Leah is a born and raised New Yorker who graduated from Vanderbilt in 2018 with degrees in Political Science and Women’s & Gender Studies. She has extensive internship experience on campaigns, for elected officials and at nonprofits, including Congresswoman Grace Meng (NY-6) and Women for Afghan Women. Prior to starting at TGC, Leah was a finance assistant for Gregory Lasak’s district attorney campaign. Leah started at TGC in June and enjoys helping clients meet and exceed their fundraising goals.
John Kuyat joined Tucker Green Consulting in July of 2019. He recently received his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in International Political Economy. While in undergrad, he interned with the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs and Bronx Community Board 6. He also worked as a press intern under NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer. John grew up in Philadelphia and currently lives in Hamilton Heights, NYC.

We are looking for motivated interns to work in our lower Manhattan-based office. Duties include research, event preparation, mailings, telephone calls and database management. Interns will gain proficiency in our commonly used campaign software and a better understanding of political campaigns. The ideal candidate will have campaign experience or have taken related coursework. An interest in Democratic politics is a must.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Hours are flexible, but applicants should be willing to commit to at least 10-15 hours a week during the school semester or over the summer.
